** on We Heart It - http://weheartit.com/entry/108837432

What I know about living

Is the pain is never just ours

Every time I hurt, I know the wound is an echo, so I keep listening

For the moment when the grief becomes a window

When I can see what I couldn’t see before

To the glass of my most battered dream

I watched a dandelion lose its mind in the wind

And when it did, it scattered a thousand seeds

So next time I tell you how easily I come out of skin, don’t try to put me back in.

Just say “here we are, together at the window,

Aching for it to all get better” but knowing there is a chance

Our hearts have only just skinned their knees

Knowing there is a chance the worst day might still be coming

Let me say right now for the record,

I am still going to be here

Asking this world to dance even

If it keeps stepping on my holy feet.

"All my life I was told
I was unimportant
in the grand scheme of things
and now I want to change
the world because I hate
what it’s becoming
who I’m becoming because of it
but I feel like no matter what
I try to do
it won’t be enough
because nothing I do is enough."

"The love you have in your life can only be as valuable as you perceive it to be, and the key of perception is belief. There are no neutral encounters. We always see others in the light of our beliefs; we always feel seen in the light of their beliefs. I’ve known people who walk into a room full of strangers and believe that a wave of hostility greets them. Other people walk into a room and immediately feel welcome. The difference is entirely one of perception, since this judgment comes before any external evidence. I would say that the first people believe they are not wanted in this world while the other group believe they are. Any belief that attacks our ability to value ourselves is a distortion. In essence the Self is of highest value; it deserves love without exception. People who cannot live their love stories harbor distorted beliefs that disguise the reality of their infinite worth."
